ALFRED — A Maine man who served more than four years in federal prison for child pornography is back behind bars for porn he tossed out the window of his truck four years ago.

David Oakes was ordered to serve 2½ years in state prison after pleading guilty today in York County Superior Court to possession of child porn. In 2009 a game warden found a working hard drive containing the porn in Hollis, where Oakes had tossed it in 2007 as federal marshals were closing in.

Oakes was first sentenced in 2001 to 54 months in federal prison for possessing child porn, and he later returned to federal prison for violating probation. He was in custody when he was indicted last fall on the state charges.
