NEWARK, Ohio — Family members say a missing central Ohio woman and her 4-year-old son have turned up safe in Maine, more than a week after they disappeared.
Her estranged husband says 24-year-old Sara Apple and son Max were found Sunday in the Bar Harbor area. Chris Apple tells WCMH-TV that the two will fly back to Columbus on Monday.
Sara Apple had picked up the boy from day care on June 9 but did not return home in Newark, 30 miles east of Columbus. Her husband told the TV station earlier that he and his wife had discussed separation and that she was treated for depression.
Newark police said last week that they believed the woman had gone off voluntarily.
