1. Thornton Academy: The defending Class A state champion could be the team to beat again, led by forwards CJ Maksut and Bryan Dallaire, who transferred back to Thornton after one year at Biddeford.
2. Falmouth: The Yachtsmen have had three head coaches in the last three seasons, but three strong forward lines should keep them in the thick of the Western Class A race.
3. Greely: A good mix of skill and experience should keep the Rangers in the running for a return to the Western Class B final, which they’ve reached seven of the last eight seasons.
4. Biddeford: The Tigers have won three Class A state championships in the last five years and have a strong defensive corps, led by Eric Grover and Taylor Reuillard.
5. York: With 11 returning lettermen, the Wildcats have enough experience and depth to make a run at a second consecutive Class B state title.
