BIDDEFORD — A 19-year-old was killed in an early morning crash in Biddeford on Sunday after the car he was riding in left the road near 214 West St. and hit a garage at 1:30 a.m.

Killed in the crash was Chaz Dorais, of 18 Sokokis Road. The driver, Patrick Beatson, 19, of 285 Hill St. was taken to Maine Medical Center with injuries that were not life-threatening.

The accident has been reconstructed and blood tests were conducted on the driver, according to a press release from Police Chief Roger Beaupre. Police are consulting with the state medical examiner and the York County district attorney on what charges will be brought.

Beatson apparently lost control of a 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier on a gradual curve outbound on West Street, was going well above the posted speed limit, and crashed into the garage, doing extensive damage to the structure, Beaupre said.
