READFIELD — The Morse High School girls streaked out to a 20-6 first-quarter lead and never looked back in posting a 63-41 Class B win over Maranacook on Tuesday.
“It was our best game of the season, far and away,” said Mike Hart. “Overall, it was a great effort and, defensively, we had 40 steals.”
The 5-7 Shipbuilders posted leads of 20-6, 34- 13 and 52-27 as Maranacook fell to 5-8.
Sadia Crosby led the way with 14 points, 12 rebounds and five steals, while Katie Henrikson had 13 points and nine steals, and Tori Field 11 points and five steals.
Hannah Cumber led Maranacook with 12 points.
At the foul line, Morse was 16 of 28 and Maranacook 13 of 24.
Morse is scheduled to host Oak Hill on Thursday, marking the return of former Morse coach Tom Morong to the Bath Middle School gym.

In South Paris on Tuesday, the visiting Eagles ended their three-game losing streak with quarterly leads of 21-12, 35-20 and 43-25.
Caitlin LaFountain led the way with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Mallory Nelson chipped in with 12 points, Leah Hitchcock 10 points and a like number of rebounds, Chelsea Crawford nine points and three assists, Molly Estes eight points and five rebounds, and Kristi Willey six rebounds and four assists.
Abbie Eastman paced the Vikings with 16 points.
Mt. Ararat (8-5 and scheduled to host Erskine on Friday) shot 22 of 48 from the field and 10 of 13 from the foul line, while the 6- 7 Vikings were 12 of 59 from the floor and nine of 19 from the charity stripe.

The visiting Class C Seagulls hit 22 of 39 free throws in handing Class D Richmond its first loss (11-1).
“We were not going to the ball and basically getting beat to the ball throughout the game,” said Richmond coach Molly Bishop, whose team visits Rangeley on Friday in a key East- West Conference matchup.
Jamie Plummer led the Bobcats with 14 points, while Alyssa Pearson added 12 points and nine rebounds. Richmond was 15 of 34 from the line.
Old Orchard Beach (8-5), which held quarter leads of 13-9, 27-20 and 38-29, was paced by Kelsey Custeau’s 18 points, including eight of 10 at the charity stripe. Christina Colman added 14 points.
