‘Greatest story’ church study

The Rev. Kelli Whitman of Prides Corner Congregational Church, 235 Pride St., Westbrook, will lead a 16-week series titled “The Greatest Story” 7-8:30 p.m. on Thursdays beginning Feb. 2.

This will be an opportunity to read and discuss the complete Bible from start to finish, the church said in a statement

Cost of the study guide is $14 and the series is open to everyone. Available seating is limited.

Post 62 to meet, dine

The Stephen W. Manchester Post 62 of the American Legion will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 1, in its headquarters at 17 Dunn St.

A chicken cacciatore dinner will be served following a social hour 5-6 p.m.

The post is hosting a karaoke night 6-10 p.m. every Friday. The kitchen and cash bar will be open.

Walker seeks authors, poets

Walker Memorial Library is continuing to compile a list of authors with Westbrook connections.

Writers, who have published material, are asked to contact Marian Peterson at the library by email mpeterson@westbrook.me.us.

Dean’s list students

Several Westbrook students have been named to the dean’s list at St. Joseph’s College in Standish for the fall semester. They are Kathryn Bois, Nicholas Jobin, Nicolette Kapothanasis, Leanne Lessard, Molly McDonough, Laura Merrill, Rachel Neales, Leach Slivinsky, and Andrew Watt.

Justin J. Richards of Westbrook was named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Husson University in Bangor.

Parking ban in effect

Westbrook’s winter parking ban continues through April 15. Parking is prohibited on any street for more than one hour between the hours of 12:01 and 6 a.m.

The following locations are available for overnight parking:

Mechanic Street lot (behind CVS).

Church Street lot (Warren Congregationsl Church).

Dunn Street Legion lot.

Ash Street lot.

Warren Ballfield lot (Stevens Avenue)
