THE WOOLWICH CENTRAL SCHOOL girls basketball team won the Busline League Championship by defeating Richmond 44-37 in recent action. Richmond led 8-5 at the end of the first and 18-17 at the half, but the Wildcats came out strong in the third quarter in taking the lead, 36-27. Madaline Suhr had a standout game with nine points, 12 rebounds, three blocks and three steals. Emma Harrington had 19 points, eight rebounds and was nine for 13 from the foul line. Brooke McElman had eight points and was a key player on the offensive end, as well as Mackenzie Johnston. Julia Blackwell, Lilah Pashley and Jasmine Thibodeau contributed on the defensive end, playing tough inside the paint. For Richmond, Kalah Patterson chipped in 17 points and Keslie Anair had 12 to lead the Bobcats. Woolwich ended its season with a record of 14-1.
