GORHAM — The University of Southern Maine softball team is scheduled to host the annual March clinics on March 4 and March 17.

Administered and coached by members of the USM softball coaching staff and current team members, these clinics can help players gear up for the upcoming season.

Proceeds from each clinic day help fund the Huskies’ spring training trip to Florida.

The March 4 clinic will be for players from grades 3-8. The pitching and defensive clinic will run from 9 a.m. to 11: 30 a. m., and will be followed by an offensive clinic from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. The March 17 clinic will follow the same format, but will be geared towards players in grades 9-12.

The preregistration fee for each session is $30. However, if a player chooses to attend both sessions on the same day, the fee is discounted to $50. If siblings attend another $10 will be discounted per child. Registration the day of each event will increase the fee to $35 for each session or $60 for the full day.

Each participant is required to bring sneakers to change into and a glove. If available, a helmet and a bat are also encouraged.

Preregistration is recommended. For more information, contact USM head coach Bonny Brown Denico at 780- 5519, or through email bbdenico@usm.maine.edu
