BRUNSWICK — For the second time in three weeks, Bowdoin’s Kayte Holtz has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Women’s Ice Hockey Player of the Week.

Holtz accounted for the game-winning goal on consecutive nights for the Polar Bears in a weekend sweep of Williams, tallying both in the third period of each game. Friday evening, Holtz helped Bowdoin rally for a 4-2 victory as she assisted on the game-tying goal before scoring the decisive tally and adding an insurance marker. Saturday afternoon, Holtz broke a scoreless tie with 5:53 remaining and assisted on another goal later in a 3-0 win.

Holtz, who also won the NESCAC’s weekly honor on Jan. 16, shared this week’s award with Sinead Murphy of Amherst. Holtz leads the Polar Bears, and ranks second in the NESCAC, with 21 points this season.
