BATH — Winter Words for Women, a Christian community book club, kicks off its first reading in February with “Kisses from Katie,” a contemporary memoir by Katie Davis, a young woman from Tennessee who gave up a life of privilege to serve Uganda’s neediest children.

Women who want to participate are encouraged to purchase the book, share it with a friend, and attend the club’s first meeting from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Episcopal Church, 1100 Washington St.

Participants will then have two weeks to read the book, before coming together to discuss it from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 22, also at Grace Episcopal Church.

Meadow Rue Merrill, a local writer who adopted a daughter from Uganda, will facilitate the meetings. For more information, call Merrill at 443-9508.
