BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick High School girls hockey team ended the regular season in style on Saturday, downing Winslow 5-0 to finish the regular season 14-3- 1, good for the top seed in Eastern girls.
The Dragons will host the winner of No. 4 Lewiston (10- 7-1)/No. 5 Yarmouth (7-11) on Friday at Sidney J. Watson Arena at 3 p.m. in the Eastern semifinals.
Annie Kelly, Rachel Moroney and Eliza Brooks (assisted by Kelly and Suzannah
Smith) scored in the first period against Winslow (4-13- 1), which needed a victory to secure a playoff spot. Sarah Thibeault ( Kate Bernier) scored on a power play in the second period, and Gillian Ford (Alexa Rivers, Bernier) finished off the scoring in the third.
Seniors Rivers, Bernier, Caroline Wild, Kelly, Thibeault and Smith were honored prior to the game.
