BRUNSWICK — In conjunction with the National Association for Girls and Women in Sport, Bowdoin College is scheduled to host its annual Girls and Women in Sports Weekend this weekend.

All events are free of charge and will begin with the first-ever “Luncheon with the Polar Bears” for girls grades 6-9 on Saturday at 1 p.m. Girls will attend the free luncheon with Bowdoin College women athletes and then head to Morrell Gymnasium where they will cheer on the Polar Bear women’s basketball team as they take on Connecticut College at 2 p.m.

On Sunday, all girls grades K-12 are invited to the Girls and Women in Sports Day at Farley Field House, where they will attend free sport clinics taught by Bowdoin varsity women student/athletes.

Sports scheduled to be included are basketball, field hockey, lacrosse, rugby, soccer, softball, squash, tennis, track and volleyball. Pizza and snacks will be provided.

The event will go from noon to 2 p.m. for grades K-3 and from 2:30-p.m. to 4:45 p.m. for fourth grade through high school.
