BRUNSWICK — The Maine Men’s Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) named Bowdoin College’s Brian Hurley Rookie of the Week.

Hurley tallied 14 points in each of Bowdoin’s two wins during the week, which included an 89-84 triumph at No. 16 Williams.

Against the Ephs, he made four-of-six tries from deep and dished out five assists.

In a victory at Thomas, the 5- foot-10 guard added eight rebounds and six assists.

Hurley currently leads the state in assists per game (4.3).

In the latest Coaches Poll, Bowdoin (15-6) is ranked first, followed by St. Joseph’s (14-6), Bates (11-9), Husson (10-10) and UMaine-Farmington (12-8).
