BRUNSWICK — Erskine Academy pulled away from Brunswick High School in the closing minutes in posting a 52-40 victory over the Dragons in girls junior varsity basketball action on Tuesday.
Erskine took a 10- 9 lead after the first quarter before Brunswick managed to tie the score at the half, 22-22. Erskine took a three- point lead entering the final quarter, 34- 31.
The Dragons held a brief lead with four minutes remaining in the game on an Erica French drive. French led all scorers with a seasonhigh 25 points, while Anna Dimick added nine. French and Dimick combined for 12 of 14 at the foul line.
Sasha Hampton, Jessica Libby, Sarah Dorval and Ashlee Navarro were defensive leaders for Brunswick.
Tasha Dutil scored 21 points for Erskine, while Mia Taylor added 10 points.
