PORTLAND — The Maine Association of Basketball Coaches ( MABC) and local Maine McDonald’s owner/operators announced the six finalists for the 2012 Mr. and Miss Basketball Awards.
Finalists selected for the title of Miss Maine Basketball 2012 are: Alexa Coulombe, Catherine McAuley; Amelia ( Mia) Diplock, Cony; and Meghan Gribbin, Windham.
Finalists selected for Mr. Maine Basketball 2012 are: Cole Libby, Bonny Eagle; Christian McCue, Hampden Academy; and Cam Sennick, Mt. Blue.
The six finalists will be honored at the Maine McDonald’s High School Senior All- Star Awards Banquet on Friday at Husson University in Bangor, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Mr. and Miss Maine Basketball will also be announced.
The award, the state’s highest basketball honor, recognizes players’ performances on the court as well as their contributions to their team and basketball in the state of Maine.
Additionally, All-Star players, coaches, members of the All- State Academic teams, Regional Foul Shooting Champions, the Maine McDonald’s Spirit of the Games recipients and the MABC Contributor Award and Media Award honorees will be recognized at the awards banquet.
The 2012 Maine McDonald’s High School Senior All-Star games will be played on Saturday at Newman Gymnasium at Husson.
