LEWISTON — It took four overtime periods, but the Portland Junior Pirates’ under-16 girls hockey team took home the Maine Amateur Hockey Association title with a 2-1 victory over Central Maine Youth Hockey recently at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee.
Taylor Fowler scored the game- winner for Portland, with Allie Spinney picking up an assist.
Brunswick High School standout Jen Machin, who scored the tying goal midway through the third period, is a member of the Pirates’ team.
Portland heads to the New England Regional Tournament March 16-18 at Enfield, Conn.
