FALMOUTH — Town Manager Nathan Poore released an $11 million municipal budget proposal for fiscal 2013 this morning, calling for a 3 percent increase of nearly $319,000 over this year’s appropriation.
But it won’t require a tax-rate increase, largely because of anticipated increases in property values, town officials said.
That’s a good thing, because the school budget that Superintendent Barbara Powers will present on Friday is expected to call for a rate hike to address enrollment, elementary-level spending and cost-of-living pay increases.
The current tax rate is $12.92 per $1,000 of property value.
