AUBURN — Harriman, a full-service architecture and engineering firm, recently announced that John Tarr, a senior electrical engineer in the firm’s Auburn office, has been promoted to associate principal.

“We’re pleased to have John as an owner in the firm. His leadership characteristics match the firm’s vision for the future, and he has been successful in developing and maintaining longterm relationships with our clients, something the firm values immensely,” Clif Greim, president of the firm, said in a news release.

Tarr, who recently rejoined the firm, has more than 25 years of experience. He received a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from University of Maine at Orono, and is a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, and the Illuminating Engineering Society.

As a registered professional engineer in Maine and New Hampshire, he has a wide range of experience in the design of interior and exterior lighting, power distribution, emergency power, fire protection, security and communications systems.

Tarr previously worked for Harriman from 1987-2008. He lives in New Gloucester with his wife and three sons.
