BATH — Girl Power Productions will celebrate the 14th anniversary of the V-Day movement by presenting “ The Vagina Monologues: Until the Violence Stops in Victory and Joy” at 7:30 p.m. April 13 and 14 at the Chocolate Church, 804 Washington St.

“ With the uproar in the media over women’s issues from contraception to basic human rights, these Vagina Warriors — men and women — promise an evening not soon to be forgotten,” a Girl Power release states. “ The award-winning team of Girl Power’s Jeff Payson and director Ellie Busby produced their first production of Eve Ensler’s ‘The Vagina Monologues’ about 14 years ago.

“ This year’s cast is starfilled with local actors and actresses, familiar and beloved, donating their time and talent to this worthy cause — Barb Bowers, Ellie Busby, Suzanne Jones, Suzanne Rankin, Bill Vaughn, Ann Foskett, Dagney Ernest, Geary Smith, Kim Fletcher, Erin Blomquist, Daphne Stern, Valerie Wells, Nick Azzaretti, Dan True, Lisa Kristoff, Shannon Rose Noah, Rachel Genthner, Jennifer True, Leila Percy, Deb Walder, Katherine Jones and Heidi Warren.”

The evening will feature new works by Edward Albee, Eve Ensler and Nicholas Kristof, among many others.

“Some are funny, some mysterious, some very difficult, some devastating; and many will be new to local audiences,” the release states. “ This year’s beneficiary, along with The City of Joy in Haiti, V-Day’s own safe house, is the Chocolate Church Arts Center in gratitude for the many quiet ways that safety and security for women are supported by the organization.”

Tickets cost $ 15 and are available at the door or by calling for a general seating reservation at 442-8455.

Cash and or checks ( no credit cards) may be made payable to Girl Power Inc.
