CONCORD, N.H. — New Hampshire lottery officials say MegaMillions fever is driving lottery sales in the state to 27,000 transactions an hour.
Officials say the jackpot has topped $540 million — with a one-time cash payout option of nearly $399 million. It is the largest lottery jackpot in world history.
Lottery officials say New Hampshire sales alone were averaging $50,000 an hour Thursday.
The drawing takes place Friday at 11 p.m.
