Heartwood Regional Theater Company’s presentation of the British farce, “See How They Run,” by Philip King, opens May 4 in the Parker Poe Theater at Lincoln Academy.
“See How They Run” is set in a British vicarage at the end of World War II.
A Heartwood release describes the play as follows:
Abounding with headlong humor, wit, mistaken identities, break-neck plot and loads of physical comedy, “See How They Run” brims with the comic relief we all need, in the hustle and bustle of busy lives.
A classic British farce running approximately 90 minutes in three short acts, “See How They Run” features nine actors from nine towns, spanning Topsham to Rockland.
The cast includes Wayne Barber, Peter Christine, Kent Cooper, Hayden Crowell, Nancy-Grace Dersham, Alison Machaiek, Millie Santiago, Steven Shema and Bill Vaughan.
Tight ensemble work, under the direction of Heartwood’s artistic director Griff Braley, features a cast of nine in delightful chaos — from police sergeant to Cockney maid, vicar to Russian spy.
Evening performances, beginning at 7:30 p.m., will be presented May 4, 5, 11 and 12. Two 3 p.m. matinees will be offered on May 6 and 13.
Seating is general, though special arrangements may be made at the time of reservation. Tickets cost $12 for students and $18 for adults. Reservations are strongly suggested and may be obtained by calling 563-1373 or emailing boxoffice@heartwoodtheater.org.
