Woolwich Central School, temporarily housed at the Huse School in Bath, recently held its Eat the Rainbow Week for staff, students and families to celebrate their involvement with the 5-2-1-0 program. The school’s Wellness Team invited participants totryavarietyof fruits and vegetables delivered to each class room by students dressed in fruit and veggie costumes. On April 5, “Green Day,” children sampled an assortment of green items, including fennel, broccoli and peas. 5-2-1-0 is a healthy lifestyle program in par tnership with Mid Coast Hospital and Let’s Go. “Five” represents the recommended number of fruits and vegetables each day. “Two” represents the maximum recommended amount of recreational screen time. “One” stands for the number of hours of physical activity recommended each day. “Zero” represents the recommended amount of sugar sweetened drinks each day — more water and milk.
