PORTLAND — Bruce Jones of Yarmouth has been elected to the board of directors of the Maine Real Estate & Development Association (MEREDA), a statewide organization of commercial real estate owners, developers and related service providers.

According to a news release, Jones has worked in the commercial furniture industry for 20 years, serving in various sales, training and management capacities. In 2004, he joined Creative Office Pavilion as its business development manager. In his role, he works with business owners and managers to provide creative furnishing solutions that support their business objectives.

Jones has been a member of MEREDA since 2007 and serves on the Conference Planning Committee. He has served on boards with the YMCA and Portland Rotary. Currently, he is an active member of the Portland Rotary Club and involved with the Portland Society of Architects, and the Greater Portland and Androscoggin chambers of commerce. He was also recently awarded MEREDA’s 2012 President’s Award for his exemplary work on the organization’s behalf.

Jones and his wife, Sue, live in Yarmouth and have worked and played in Maine for more than 25 years. Their two, grown children live in New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
