PORTLAND — Beth Newlands Campbell, president of Hannaford Bros. Co., recently received the 2012 Hon. Edmund S. Muskie Access to Justice Award.
According to a news release, the award is presented annually to recognize individuals in the community who demonstrate a strong commitment to the public good.
As president of Hannaford, Newlands Campbell has supported many initiatives that promote equality and wellbeing. As Maine’s largest private employer, with 56 stores statewide, Hannaford occupies a highly visible role in the local community. Its leaders, including Newlands Campbell, have proactively used that visibility to make Maine a better place to live and to assist our most vulnerable residents.
The award was presented at the 17th Anniversary Muskie Access to Justice dinner at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland.
