WISCASSET — Things are heating up at St. Philip’s Episcopal Church as many volunteers are working on final plans for the 60th annual Strawberry Festival on June 30.
The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“We are very excited about this year’s festival,” said Beth Cowing-Sawyer, co-director of the festival. “It’s our 60th and we want it to be particularly special.”
Organizers hope many local crafters will man booths displaying their unique handmade items throughout the festival grounds, as well as in the parish hall. They want to offer a venue for the artists’ work while also adding to the day’s festive atmosphere.
As in years past, a $25 fee is charged for a 10-foot by 10-foot space. Craftspeople need to supply their own tables, awning, extension cords and any other supplies needed for displaying wares.
Those interested can obtain an application form by calling the church office at 882-7418 and leaving a name, address and call-back number; or calling Gail Grundy, crafter chairperson, at 882-7955, for further information or to be sent a form.
Traditionally, the Strawberry Festival has served as a kick-off to summer activities for many people in the area and visitors to the region.
