Shipshape on Lincoln Street Capt. George McManus built this home at 11 Lincoln St., Brunswick, in 1857. The bricks used in the front of the home were oiled bricks, reputed to have been used as ballast in ships. Lincoln Street, a National Park Service Historic District, was named for Dr. Isaac Lincoln, who lived from 1780 to 1868. Lincoln lived at 3 Lincoln St., the oldest house in Brunswick Village, which was originally built on Maine Street in 1772. Lincoln Street residents Robert and Cristle Judd will lead a Pejepscot Historical Society tour of the Lincoln Street historic district at 1 p.m. Sunday. The tour will begin at the corner of Maine and Lincoln streets. Admission is $2 in advance, $4 on the day of the tour, and free for PHS members. Registration is required; call 729-6606 to sign up.
