ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST Church, one of the seven Roman Catholic churches of the Midcoast area that comprises All Saints Parish, will host an informal open house after all Masses this weekend. The church will commemorate the laying of the church’s cornerstone located near the corner of Pleasant and Union streets in 1912, following a devastating fire that destroyed the previous church building, pictured above. The open house will honor the church’s patron saint on his feast day (June 24), as well as parishioners of previous generations, and feature displays from the church’s museum. Mass times are 4 p.m. Saturday 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday. The open house will run approximately one hour beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday, and at 9 a.m. and noon on Sunday.
