To the editor:

Happy Birthday, America, the greatest nation ever.

Just think, 236 years of independence from foreign rule; a feat accomplished by no other nation in modern times. No other nation of freethinking people has ever aspired to such a height as to be an example and a blessing to the entire human race.

This Fourth of July, Independence Day, I hope everyone everywhere will take a little time out from vacations, traveling, barbecues, fireworks and parades to stand and place one’s hand over one’s heart out of respect, as the American flag passes proudly by as she is definitely a grand old flag.

Let’s not forget those who paid so great a price to secure our blessings of liberty and also remember to say a little prayer thanking God for America, land that we love.
