PORTLAND — The Trenton Thunder defeated the Portland Sea Dogs, 6-3 in an 11-inning Eastern League marathon in game one of a doubleheader Sunday afternoon at Hadlock Field.

Game two was postponed due to wet field conditions. The game will be made-up as part of a doubleheader tonight, with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m.

Trenton scored three runs in the 11th inning to end the Sea Dogs’ three-game win streak. The Thunder loaded the bases with one out when Damon Sublett scored on a Zoilo Almonte groundball to break a 3-3 tie off Jason Urquidez (1-1). Jose Gil added a two-run single to pad the advantage.

After a 24-minute rain delay, Ryan Flannery (3-2) tossed a 1-2-3 frame to close out the win.

The Sea Dogs got off to a great start when Jeremy Hazelbaker tripled in the first and scored on a Marquez Smith RBI single to give Portland a 1-0 lead.
