BATH — Music Doing Good will present “The Art of the Songwriter” on July 21 to benefit the Chocolate Church Arts Center, 804 Washington St.

Music Doing Good presents shows throughout the country to benefit local nonprofit and arts organizations.

A Music Doing Good release describes the event as follows:

The Art of the Songwriter is a concert in the round, describing the inspiration, interpretation and experience of the singer-songwriter through music and storytelling.

Actor and musician Ronny Cox, who starred in “Deliverance,” “Total Recall,” “Robocop” and “Dexter,” will join other special guests, including musical storyteller Bill Ward, Chojo Jacques on fiddle and mandolin, pianist and accordionist Radoslav Lorkovic, Brian Brewer on bass, Wayne Wilkerson on guitar and Chris Watkins on piano, for the concert. They join Music Doing Good artists Ray Younkin and Aaron Kaufman.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit the Chocolate Church.

A cocktail reception begins at 6 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at www.chocolatechurcharts.org or by calling 442-8455.

Music Doing Good, a nonprofit performing arts organization, produces a distinctive concert series that incorporates a variety of musical genres, including popular music, classical, jazz, standards and musical theater.

Productions combine an eclectic mix of music, a central theme and special expert guests who take audiences on a thought-provoking journey that creates a deeply rewarding experience. Each concert is designed to build like-minded audiences who share a passion for helping others and improving the world we share.
