TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — The mayor of New Jersey’s capital city denies any wrongdoing after FBI agents searched his home.

Trenton Mayor Tony Mack emerged from the house today and told reporters “we have not violated the public trust in any way.”

A spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in New Jersey could not say what was under investigation, or whether the office was involved.

Mack’s first term in office has been punctuated by accusations of reckless spending and nepotism.
