TOPSHAM FAIR ASSOCIATION officers gather around a time capsule Sunday that was donated to the Maine Association of Agricultural Fairs by Central Maine Pyrotechnics in celebration of the association’s 100th anniversary. Hope Ricker, president of the board of directors of the MAAF, said at the board’s annual convention the last week of January, the board will seal up the capsule and make the decision about how long it will stay sealed and where it will be stored. Ricker said Central Maine Pyrotechnics is supportive of all Maine fairs and the MAAF, “and in celebration of our 100th anniversary, they had this made for us.” The state’s 26 agricultural fairs all get to put something in the capsule as will the MAAF.
