RICHMOND FIRE DEPARTMENT doused a fire that broke out in a vacant mobile home on Alexander Reed Road Saturday morning. The fire, reported shortly before 9 a.m., was contained to the living room of the mobile home when firefighters arrived at 665 Alexander Reed Road, Richmond Fire Chief Matt Roberge said. Crews had the fire knocked down within a half hour. Firefighters also responded from Bowdoin and Bowdoinham, bringing tanker trucks with water. Litchfield and Dresden fire departments provided station coverage. A Central Maine Power employee came and shut off power to the residence. Roberge said Saturday the cause is still under investigation. Investigators from the state fire marshal’s office were expected to be on scene today working to determine the cause of the fire, which left the trailer badly damaged. Owners Mark and Elena Carter live next door to the trailer and reported the fire.
