Auction donations accepted

Donations are being accepted through September for the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce Auction to promote commercial and economic development of the region.

Online auction bidding will run from Oct. 8-29, with about 100 items heading to a live auction, set for Nov. 2 at the Rockland Elks Lodge, 210 Rankin St.

The live auction will also feature cash raffle prizes, raffle items, cash bar and a concession stand.

The live auction items will be clearly identified on the website and absentee bidding will be available for those who cannot attend the live event.

Items up for bid include business services, artwork, unique experiences, travel, lodging packages, dining, recreational activities, gift baskets, train rides, boat trips, festival tickets and landscaping.

KENNEBUNK

Holiday fair tables available

Table-space reservations are being accepted for the York County Retired Educators Association’s Annual Holiday Fair, set for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 3 at Kennebunk High School.

Table space is $50 with those proceeds directly benefitting the association’s scholarship fund, which provides three scholarships to high school graduates in the spring.

STRATTON

Local-history calendars here

The Dead River Area Historical Society 2013 pictorial calendars are now available for purchase.

The calendars feature historic faces and places from the area, with a paragraph describing each photograph.

The calendars are $6 each or two for $10.

The calendars are available at Pine’s Market and Fotter’s Market, or via mail, for postage and handling fee of $2 more per calendar. Send checks to: Dead River Area Historical Society, P.O. Box 15, Stratton, ME 04982.
