THE CATHANCE RIVER EDUCATION ALLIANCE presents “Birds of Prey” by Wind Over Wings on Saturday under the tent at the Wild Duck Pub at the Highland Green Golf Course from 11 a.m. to noon in Topsham. This program includes four birds — great horned owl, red-tailed hawk, common raven and saw-whet owl — and their stories will be told along with the natural history of each species. These community programs are free, family-friendly and open to the public. Snacks and refreshments will be provided courtesy of the Wild Duck Pub. These programs are designed to support CREA’s mission of “connecting our community to nature.” Pictured is Wind Over Wings founder and president Hope Douglas of Dresden as she calms a nervous year-old saw-whet owl named Pippin during a raptor education presentation in Farmington on Sept. 22.
