BRUNSWICK — Growstown School will host an annual open house and harvest bake sale 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

The 1850s school at Church and Woodside roads is one of the last one-room schoolhouses in Maine, maintained as a living history center.

At the event, each participant is assigned the name of a child who actually attended the school more than 150 years ago. Through role-playing, the students and accompanying adults become 19thcentury “scholars,” studying the same lessons and performing the same tasks as did the children whose names they bear.
