RICHMOND — Rebecca “Becky” Lilly, 56, of Richmond, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012 at her home surrounded by loving family and friends, after a valiant battle with cancer.

She was born to mother Lola Curtis Webb and father Walter Richmond Lane on November 17, 1955.

Rebecca spent her life looking out for others, which led to several jobs taking care of troubled teens and the elderly. In 1998 Rebecca started work at Richmond Elder Care which became her passion. As Resident Care Director, nothing gave her greater joy than to spend time with, and care for, the many residents at REC who counted Rebecca as a great friend and confidant.

To know Rebecca was to love Rebecca. She was loved by so many. She had three children and four grandchildren of her own, but was known to many others as “Mom” or “Grammy” because she always had an open door and an open ear. She was an amazing woman who had a passion for family, friends, gardening, swimming, reading, shopping, four-wheeling, cooking, telling stories and riding her lawn mower. She was a wonderful Mother, Sister, Aunt and Friend.

She is survived by her husband Peter Lilly Sr. of Richmond; daughter Lola Vintinner and husband Corey and children Nathan and Breanna; daughter Michelle Trafton and husband Timothy and children Reid and Lucas; son Peter Lilly Jr. and wife Amanda; siblings Frank Lane, Paul Lane, Patricia Dixon, Kelley Wagg, Holly Hyde, Jeffery Lane, Audrey Hyde, Curtis Lane, Valerie Webb, Waldon Webb, Jocelyn Cahill and honorary sister Faye Poulin, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

A celebration of life will be held at the Richmond Historical Society Building, Pleasant Street, Richmond Maine, on October 28, 2012 from 3-6pm. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Richmond Elder Care Activities Fund at P.O. Box 145 in Richmond, ME 04357.
