BRUNSWICK — The Alzheimer’s Association will hold a “town hall” to discuss implementation of the nation’s first National Alzheimer’s Plan and the Maine State Plan on Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias.

The program is 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, at the Mid Coast Senior Health Center.

Attendees can share their Alzheimer’s story, ask attending representatives from Maine’s congressional delegation and state and local leaders to make Alzheimer’s a priority, and help shape implementation of the plans.

The Alzheimer’s Association says care for those with Alzheimer’s disease will cost the country more than $1 trillion by 2050. In Maine, as many as 37,000 people are living with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia.

To attend, email Jessica James at jjames@alz.org or call 1-(800)-272-3900. To learn more, visit www.alz.org/plan.
