BOWDOINHAM — Herbert Arthur Bailey, age 67 of Bowdoinham, died Sunday, October 28, 2012 at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.

Herb was born in Bath, Maine on December 11, 1944, a son of Lawrence and Elizabeth Linscott Bailey. He attended local schools and graduated from Brunswick High School.

He was a self employed commercial fisherman all of his life and owned and operated Bailey’s Seafood in Bowdoinham. He was a lobsterman and eel dealer.

He married Patricia Ann Lane on January 22, 1966 in Newark, California and they moved to Bowdoinham in 1974.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and was known for always being concerned of others.

Herb is predeceased by his father; and two brothers, Robert Bailey and Lawrence “Sonny” Bailey, Jr.

Surviving are his wife of Bowdoinham; his son, Herb Bailey and his wife, Devan of Topsham; four daughters, Heather Bailey and her spouse, Kerry Henrikson of Bowdoinham, Holly Bailey and her husband, Al Martinez of Grand Prairie, TX, Dawn Bernier and her husband, John of Topsham, and Poppy Bernier of Florida; and seven grandchildren.

A celebration of Herb’s life will be held at 11AM Saturday, November 3, at the Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal Street, Brunswick. Burial will be private.
