The new Rusty’s Market located at 38 Middlesex Road opened its doors to the public in late November.

The new convenience store was built at the site of the former Rusty’s store, which had been a Topsham landmark for the past 40 years before making way in July for construction of the new store.

According to an announcement about the opening, “Rusty Rancourt was behind the grill cooking his famous sausage, onions and pepper sub (now known as the ‘Bay Park Bomb’), while visiting with longtime friends, and having his photo taken with local children. Rusty also offered his favorite ‘Rusty Dogs’ to many hungry customers who have been patiently waiting for the store to open.”

Priority Real Estate Group, the owner and operator of the new store, began construction on the project in July and finished the final details opening week — including a gazebo, a farm stand and detailed landscaping.

The 3,150-square-foot convenience store and deli/grill is open daily Monday through Friday, 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The market offers homemade pizza, hot soups and sandwiches, a full-service grille daily until 8 p.m., daily “Grab N Go” meals, grocery items, baked goods, fresh brewed coffee and a wide variety of beverages, including wine and beer.

Two “4-in-1” fuel dispensers on a single island are located on-site, offering Shell products including diesel. Rusty’s phone number is 729-9411.
