FREEPORT — Sidney L. Brewer, 84, resident of Flying Point Road in Freeport died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, January 20, 2013. He was born September 6, 1928 in Meriden, CT a son of Carlton and Elsie (Ulrickson) Brewer. At an early age Sidney moved with his family to Maine. He was educated in Freeport schools and graduated from Freeport High School with the Class of 1949. He also attended SMVTI in Portland.
Mr. Brewer worked for many years as a bulldozer operator for Mariner Lumber and then went on to work at Freeport Water District until his retirement after over 20 years of service.
He enjoyed being on the water and had owned many different boats over the course of his life.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jane (Walsh) Brewer of Freeport, a son Scott Brewer of Freeport, two brothers, David Brewer of Freeport, Paul Brewer of Punta Gorda, FL, a sister, Joan Walker of Richmond, ME and two grandchildren, Jared Brewer and Jeffrey Brewer both of Freeport.
Services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Brackett Funeral Home, Brunswick.
