GHS presents ‘Oklahoma’

Gorham High School presents “Oklahoma,” by Rodgers and Hammerstein, as its spring musical with several evening performances and two matinees.

The curtain goes up at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 15, with other evening shows on Fridays and Saturdays, March 16, 22, and 23. Sunday performances at 2:30 p.m. are March 17 and 24.

The classic musical is a tale of farmers and ranchers in the Oklahoma territory and also a love story. Bruce Avery directs the Gorham presentations.

“We have 41 high school students who will sing and dance their way into your heart,” Avery said in a press release. “They do an amazing job.”

Avery said the show also includes a dozen younger students, which promotes “enthusiasm for musical theater among the younger generation.”
