BATH — Edward H. Van Buren Jr., 82, of Valley Rd., passed away with his family by his side on Friday, March 8th, 2013, at Mid Coast Hospital in Brunswick.

He was born in Bath on September 2, 1930, the son of Edward H. Sr. and Helen (Hall) Van Buren. Eddie grew up living mostly with his grandparents, Daniel and Ruby Hall in Bath, and graduated from Morse High School. After graduation, he was drafted into the Armed Forces, where he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

He returned to Bath, where he married and raised a beautiful family with the love of his life, his soul mate, Gladys Michaud.

For over 40 years Eddie worked as an X-Ray Technician at Bath Iron Works. Although a very hard and dedicated worker, he never failed to make time for his family. He and Gladys owned a cottage on Damariscotta Lake where they would make boating get-a-ways as often as they could.

Eddie had a strong passion for cars. He knew everything that there was to know about any engine you could imagine, never missing a second of the NASCAR racing season.

He will be sadly and passionately missed by all who loved him.

Edward is predeceased by his wife Gladys; sister, Beverly and daughter Jackie Jean.
