She attended Brunswick schools and graduated from Sullivan High School and lived in Mid-coast Maine most of her life. She was employed at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut, a veterans home in Chelsea, Maine, several garment factories and retired from BIW. She enjoyed shopping for bargains, traveling and sewing.
She was predeceased by two brothers, William W. Elwell of Massachusetts on February 14, 1986 and Robert L. Elwell of Brunswick, Maine on June 11, 1995; one sister, Willa “Auntie” M. Elwell of Brunswick, Maine on February 25, 2000; two sons, Kenneth James Krise on December 25, 1966 and Raymond
Joseph Krise of S.
Portland, Maine on
July 2, 2008.
She was a mother of eight and is survived by one brother, John “Jack” Elwell of Utah; six children, Janet Elizabeth Cole (Krise) of Florida, George Andrew Krise of Maine, Louise Marie Krise of Maine, Brenda Mae Walborn (Krise) of Pennsylvania, Brian Paul Krise of Maine, Jacquelyn Elaine Locke (Robinson) of Maine. Twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in Maine at a future date.
