She was born April 16, 1932 in Chelsea, Me a daughter of Harry E. and Bertha Markham Heath. She attended Chelsea, Me schools. She married Ivan Ellsworth Murphy in Phippsburg, ME on August 26, 1970. Mr. Murphy died March 8, 2006.
Mrs. Murphy founded the Assembly of God Church, Brunswick. She and her husband ministered to several churches in the greater Brunswick area, and traveled throughout New England with their children as “The Murphy Family” and “The Singing Murphy’s.” Her love for the Lord, pervaded her life as a loving mother and wife.
She was predeceased by five brothers, Fred Heath, Walter Heath, Roy Heath, Harry Heath, Jr., Roger Heath; a sister, Orrena Littlefield.
She is survived by a son Rodney Alan Smith and his wife Lori of Pittston, PA; a daughter, Kaelin Cynthia Ann Murphy of Sharpsburg , GA; a brother, Kenneth Heath and his wife Susan of Topsham, ME; three sisters, Hazel Sylvester of South Paris, ME, Edna Griffin of Auburn, ME, Helen Poore of Brunswick, ME; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family can visit 6-8 pm Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal Street, Brunswick, ME. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home 11 am Wednesday, March 20.
