BRUNSWICK/MADAWASKA — Lorraine T. Ouellette, 83, of 50 Baribeau Drive, died unexpectedly on March 11th, 2013.

Born Feb. 16th, 1930 in Edmundston, NB, Canada, she was the daughter of Leonard and Marie Anne( Martin) Soucy.

In 1948, she married Reno Ouellette in Edmunston, where they later relocated to Madawaska, Maine to start their family. She worked as a waitress for many years before receiving a hairdressing certification from Mr. Bernard’s school of hairdressing in Lewiston. She opened her own hair salon from her home until her retirement in 1979.

Following the death of her husband in 2005, she relocated to Brunswick in 2007 to be closer to her children. She was an avid television enthusiast, enjoying her favorite soap operas, news programs and Catholic TV. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren perform in various athletic and other school activities, as well as traveling to various vacation spots with her family.

She will be remembered for her feisty personality and her enthusiastic and bubbly sense of humor. She had the great gift of making people laugh. She was loved by many people and will be missed.

Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her son Martin and her two brothers, Lawrence and Clarence

Soucy.

She is survived by two sisters: Majella Bouchard of San Benito, Texas, Marie Bujold of Port Cartier, Quebec, Canada, and one brother Donald Soucy of Magog, Quebec, Canada. Four children: Bonnie Cipriani of South Kingstown, RI, Rebecca Calabrese of Broadbrook, CT, Gilman Ouellette of Lords Valley, PA and Venessa Rohman of Topsham; a very special niece: Therese Labrosse of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; ten grandchildren: Nicole Cipriani-Fox, Leslie Cipriani, Thomas Cipriani, Nicholas Calabrese, Michael Calabrese, Gilman Ouellette Jr., Dominique Ouellette, Emily (Rohman) Gillette, Nathan Rohman and Anna Rohman.

A funeral Mass and burial will be held in Madawaska later in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to: Catholic TV, P.O. Box 9196, Watertown, MA 02471 or Midcoast Hunger Prevention Program Soup Kitchen, 84A Union St., Brunswick, Me 04011.
