BRUNSWICK — Maine Arts Publishing, with offices in Fort Andross in Brunswick, has partnered with more than 20 well-known Maine artists to promote and sell their images in a high-quality, digitally printed format as posters and notecards.

The new independent publishing company shares the artist’s unique visions of Maine with their custom designs, capturing the magic of Maine as a place and as a people.

The mystique of Maine’s rugged landscape and people has historically been an enormously popular magnet for artists. Well-known painters have traditionally created their works throughout Maine, from the southern coast to Monhegan Island, Mount Desert Island to Downeast, and over to the western mountains. Maine Arts Publishing is keeping this Maine tradition alive by supporting and publicizing contemporary artists. All of the products are created and printed in Maine and offered through specialty retailers, galleries and museums throughout the state, or online at www.maineartspublishing.com.

“We have chosen Fort Andross as our company headquarters for Maine Arts Publishing because we love the spirit, vision and vibe of the historic building,” said Dede Wilder, a Brunswick resident and coowner. “The community of artists who we work with reflects the same ethos as the great work environment in the mill, which is about camaraderie and sharing a vision about doing business in Maine.”

The principals of the women-owned company, Wilder and Leslie Harlow of Ellsworth, are longtime residents of Maine and each has worked within the arts community in many capacities, from artisans to gallery owners.

Paula Kee of Bucksport is the sales representative for Maine Arts Publishing, bringing years of experience in the retail field to the service of customers. Lauren Catlett of Brunswick serves as office administrator.

The 2013 Spring Collection will be introduced at the New England products trade show on March 23, 24 and 25 in Portland at booth number 320.

For more information, Maine Arts Publishing’s offices are located at the Fort Andross mill, Suite 109B, or go online at www.maineartspublishing.com.
