BRUNSWICK — Andrew Fiori died on March 20, 2013 at the wonderful age of 91. He maintained his wit and charm to the end. Born in Brunswick on April 21, 1921, he was the son of Alfredo and Corola Fiori. Andrew married Rejane Fournier in 1948. She predeceased him.

As a Marine during WWII. Andrew was assigned to a mortar battalion that participated in most of the major battles in the Pacific. He also served in the Korean Conflict as a manager of the commissary at Camp Lejeune, S.C.

For many years Andrew worked in family businesses, the Kennebec Fruit Company and Fiori Brothers, before engaging in other endeavors, including as an agent for Met Life. Andrew enjoyed community service, especially his terms as a member of the Brunswick Sewer District, where he was Chair, and as a volunteer for St. Charles Borromeo Church. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed hunting, fly fishing, and horse racing. He was a life-long gardener.

Andrew is survived by three children, Dennis of Concord, M.A. and his wife Margaret Burke: Frank of North Las Vegas, NV and his wife Regina; Andrea Holden of Jackman, ME and her husband William, seven grandchildren, six step grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and ten step great grandchildren.

A mass in celebration of Andrew’s life is planned for later this spring. Interment will be in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta. Memorial contributions may be made to the Brunswick- Topsham Land Trust.
