LEWISTON — Due to overwhelming demand, the Business to Business Trade Show Committee recently announced the expansion of this year’s Androscoggin Business to Business Trade Show to include an outdoor venue.

Geared toward vendors interested in showcasing large equipment such as mobile marketing vehicles, boats, construction equipment, cars, trucks, luxury transportation, recreation and sporting vehicles, cranes and more, committee member Stephanie Lewis of the Lewiston- Auburn Economic Growth Council expects a strong showing.

“We have a total of 23 spaces sectioned off within the lower parking lot of the Androscoggin Bank Colisee,” said Lewis. “The spaces range in size from 18 by 40 feet all the way to 24 by 54 feet in order to accommodate the major promotional units and larger trailers.”

Presented by the Lewiston- Auburn Economic Growth Council, the event will be held Thursday, June 13 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee in Lewiston.

“We’ve been exploring the idea of opening up the outdoor venue for the last few years, however, we simply haven’t had the means to accommodate the basic logistics to make this happen,” said Lewis. “We were able secure the services of Creative Elements, a local event management outfit in Auburn familiar with the trade show, to help facilitate this exciting expansion.”

With overnight security provided, a first year flat rate of $475 per booth will be offered to all vendors, regardless of size, interested in participating in the outdoor venue. A $100 discount will be available for any vendors interested in purchasing both an indoor and outdoor exhibitor space.

“In order for us to continue to grow the excitement and anticipation of the event, we had to make an informed decision about what we could accommodate for an outdoor venue,” said Lewis. “Having successfully been 100 percent sold out the last seven years, we know there is a demand and backlog for this type of opportunity.”

Began in 1995

Started in 1995, the event has grown in size and attendance every year. The 2012 event was the largest on record and featured more than 185 booths and 167 exhibitors across 57 market and industry segments.

Recognizing that small businesses make up the majority of business growth in Maine, booth fees will remain the same as the previous year with costs ranging from $225 to $625 per indoor space. Additional discounts and savings are available for Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce members.

Admission is free with a business card and free parking will be available the day of the show.

“Ultimately, this show is about networking and shaking hands,” said Lewis. “Even if a business is unable to exhibit, they can still attend and take advantage of the opportunity to interact with thousands of business professionals who are searching for new ideas and new business opportunities.”
