PITTSTON — Louise Elizabeth Chase, 96, formerly of Pittston and most recently at the Horizon Living Center in Brunswick fell asleep in Jesus on Monday, April 8, 2013.

She was born in Damariscotta on November 12, 1916, eighth child of ten children of James and Rose Carlton Seigars.

She was a Cony High School graduate of 1936. Louise married the love of her life Walter E. Chase in June of 1938. He died in August of 1995. She was very active in the Richmond Seventh Day Adventist Church as the organist, soloist, and in a trio, church clerk, in the community services center and various church committees. She worked at Parkview Memorial Hospital for fifteen years in the kitchen as a dietician.

She was predeceased by her son Bill Chase, her daughter Priscilla Louise Chase and all of her brothers and sisters.

Survivors include Walter Edward Chase and his wife Penny of Farmingdale, Barbara Chase Martin and husband Dave of South Gardiner, Carolyn Chase Nason and husband Gary of Richmond, Evelyn Chase Lethbridge and husband Gordon of Athol, MA, Christine Chase Gilman and husband Deane of West Gardiner, Joanne Chase Brown and husband Dan of Miramar, Florida, and Charles Chase and wife Janet of Berrien Springs, Michigan, 25 grandchildren, many great great grandchildren and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting hours will be held Saturday, April 13th from 4 to 6pm at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner, where a funeral service will follow at 6pm. Committal services will be held Sunday at 10am at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Augusta.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 235 Eastern Ave., Augusta 04330.
